Ghost Manor #74

Charlton's long-running horror anthology reaches issue #74 with a cover by Steve Ditko that sets an eerie, otherworldly tone: a sinister green-faced figure in jester's costume stands encircled by glowing, interlocking rings of light, while enormous disembodied hands reach in from the edges of the darkness as if trying to contain — or release — whatever strange energy crackles before them. The tagline "Visit Ghost Manor… If You Dare" is a fitting invitation to this 1984 package of macabre tales, including "Death in a Darkroom," written by Nicola Cuti with interior art and inking also by Ditko. For fans of Charlton's brand of atmospheric horror, this one delivers exactly the unsettling mood the publisher did so well.
