“The Wolf Howls for You”

Charlton's Ghost Manor #12 (June 1973) delivers a vivid supernatural confrontation on its cover by Pat Boyette: a haggard, robed figure braces himself against a stone ledge as a terrifying crimson specter — arms outstretched, face contorted — surges toward him from a wall of flame, while an ornate tome flies through the air between them. That clash of mortal and the supernatural, bathed in fiery reds, captures exactly the eerie atmosphere Charlton's horror anthology line did so well at twenty cents a copy. Inside, writer Joe Gill and artist Charles Nicholas (inked by Wayne Howard) carry on with the ghostly storytelling, including the featured tale "The Wolf Howls for You.
