Ghost Manor #2
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeGhost Manor (Vol. 2) #2 is the second outing for Mr. Bones, Pat Boyette's skeletal butler who served as the host of Charlton's relaunched anthology series from 1971 onward — a figure whose gaunt, deadpan presence gave the title a distinct identity within Charlton's crowded stable of Bronze Age horror books. The issue continues Steve Ditko's early run on the series, with the artist producing both cover and interior work that collectors and historians now recognize as some of his most expressive horror-genre storytelling of the period. Within Charlton's broader horror ecosystem — which included sister titles Ghostly Tales, Haunted, and The Many Ghosts of Doctor Graves — Ghost Manor Vol. 2 was differentiated chiefly by Mr. Bones, making every early issue part of the foundational record of that character's ongoing role.

Ghost Manor's first volume (1968–1971), edited by Sal Gentile, had cycled through multiple hosts before being relaunched as a fresh Vol. 2 #1 in October 1971 with Mr. Bones installed as the new permanent host — a character designed by Pat Boyette. Issue #2 followed in December 1971, carrying the same creative combination of Boyette's character design, Steve Ditko's interior and cover art, and scripts attributed to prolific Charlton house writer Joe Gill, with additional story art from Charles Nicholas and Vince Alascia. From issue #6 onward, George Wildman took over as editor and helmed the title until its cancellation in 1984.
