About the series
Debuting in 1993, DC’s Catwoman solo series gave Selina Kyle her first long-running title, evolving from a sleek, acrobatic thief into a more complex antihero over 96 issues. Defined by Jim Balent’s glamorous, kinetic artwork and the scripting of Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench, and later Devin Grayson, the book wove her heists and street-level adventures with tangled ties to Batman and Bruce Wayne. It also introduced original supporting characters like the enigmatic Cassandra Cartland and pitted Selina against the then-new Batman, Jean-Paul Valley, cementing her as a compelling lead in Gotham’s underworld.
