“Hints and Allegations, Part 3 of 3: Menage a Trois”

Devin Grayson and Jim Balent close out their "Hints and Allegations" trilogy with a genuinely unsettling cover: Catwoman in her signature purple costume and cat-eared cowl, her face contorted into a wide, Joker-style painted grin as she clutches her own head, surrounded by a field of maniacal "HA HA HA" laughter against a sickly green background. A single cheerful daisy pinned to her chest makes the image all the more disquieting, hinting that Gotham's greatest clown has left his mark on Selina Kyle in ways that go beyond the physical. Balent's cover art — inked by Balent himself — delivers a striking, tension-filled image that makes this February 1999 finale impossible to pass over on the shelf.
