The Animal Man Omnibus #[nn]
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis massive hardcover collects Grant Morrison's acclaimed run on Animal Man, reprinting issues #1–26 of the 1988 series along with the Secret Origins #39 story. Morrison's metafictional exploration of superhero tropes follows Buddy Baker, a C-list hero who becomes increasingly aware of his own fictional existence, leading to a groundbreaking confrontation with his creator. The omnibus also includes the character's earlier appearances from Strange Adventures and backup stories, offering a comprehensive look at one of DC's most innovative and self-reflective superhero sagas.
In "The Human Zoo," Grant Morrison and Chas Truog deliver a mind-bending chapter where Animal Man’s fight against a fox hunt takes a surreal turn as James Highwater uncovers fragments of the pre-Crisis multiverse through the Psycho Pirate and the Mad Hatter. With Vixen arriving at the Baker house seeking help against unseen enemies, Animal Man finds himself literally unraveling—only for the alien beings who granted him his powers to finally make their presence known. Brian Bolland’s striking cover captures the story’s eerie, otherworldly tone.
