Chas Truog

Chas Truog is best known as the primary penciller on DC Comics' *Animal Man*, where he illustrated the celebrated, boundary-pushing run written by Grant Morrison from issue #1 through #26, and remained on the series as artist until issue #32. Born in the United States, Truog entered the comics industry in the mid-1980s, bringing a grounded, expressive style that perfectly anchored Morrison's surreal and metafictional scripts. His work on *Animal Man* helped define the book's unique blend of superhero action, social consciousness—particularly regarding animal rights—and philosophical exploration of reality, free will, and cosmic mysticism.
