The volume collects the story arc 'Fight Without Pity,' featuring the martial arts hero's battles against the forces of his father, Fu Manchu, alongside allies like Sir Denis Nayland Smith, Black Jack Tarr, and Leiko Wu. Key adversaries include Razor-Fist, Shen Kuei, and the villainous Carlton Velcro, with guest appearances by Iron Fist and other Marvel heroes.
In "The Crystal Connection," Shang-Chi and Clive Reston are drawn into a deadly game of betrayal when they confront Fah Lo Suee—Fu Manchu’s cunning daughter—alongside her enforcers Bolo and Kimba. With Petrie revealed as the mole and Fah Lo Suee offering them a dangerous alliance, Shang-Chi refuses while Reston hesitates, setting off a chain of events that leads to Leiko’s daring escape and a shocking revelation aboard Fah Lo Suee’s launch. The story unfolds with tense confrontations and escalating stakes, as Fu Manchu closes in on a legendary prize hidden within the great oyster. Written by Doug Moench and illustrated with striking precision by Paul Gulacy, with inks by Pablo Marcos, colors by Petra Goldberg, and letters by John Costanza, this issue features a cover by Gil Kane and Klaus Janson.
