☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis omnibus collects Geoff Johns' entire run on Aquaman, including issues #0–52 of the New 52 series, as well as the Aquaman: Throne of Atlantis crossover with Justice League. Johns redefined the character, leaning into the kingly and mythological aspects of Arthur Curry while restoring his status as a formidable hero. The volume also includes the backup stories from issues #23–25 and the Aquaman: The Others one-shot, presenting a complete narrative arc that revitalized the Sea King for a new generation.
In "The Trench Part One," Aquaman awakens to find Atlantis in chaos, its throne seized by the enigmatic Dead King. Written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Paul Pelletier, with inks by Sean Parsons and colors by Rod Reis, this pivotal story reveals a shocking truth: Arthur is not the rightful heir of Atlantis, but a descendant of the tyrant Orin—whose betrayal led to the downfall of the true king, Atlan. The cover by Ivan Reis and Joe Prado captures the weight of this revelation in stark, haunting detail.

Aquaman awakens to discover that he has been unconscious for six months, and in that time, the Dead King has seized control of Atlantis. Vulko had helped Arthur to escape and now helps Arthur learn the truth: the Dead King is Atlan, who was the first ruler of Atlantis, who was overthrown and his family was killed by his treacherous brother Orin. Once Atlan successfully defeated Orin and reclaimed the throne, Atlan sank Atlantis. Vulko reveals that Arthur is not descended from Atlan the true king of Atlantis, but is instead descended from the villainous Orin.
