Black Manta murders Kahina the Seer, a member of a mysterious group of heroes called The Others of which Arthur was once a member. As Arthur and Mera ask for Stephen Shin's help to understand the Atlantean artifact found in the Trench, Ya'wara, another member of The Others, shows up to kill Shin, as she believes he played a role in Kahina's death.
