With Nereus and the Xebellians pledging allegiance to the Dead King, Aquaman and Mera are forced to flee Xebel. They return to Atlantis to find it under the control of Scavenger. Tula has second thoughts about the mission to free Orm, but before she, Murk, and Swatt can proceed, they learn of the attack on Atlantis. As Aquaman leads the attack on Scavenger and his team, the Dead King arrives with Nereus and the Xebellians to conquer Atlantis. Aquaman is injured in the battle.
