About this Collection

This Epic Collection gathers the beginning of Dan Slott's celebrated run on Amazing Spider-Man, collecting issues #648-662 and material from #647. The 'Big Time' era sees Peter Parker land a job at Horizon Labs, giving him a fresh start and access to new technology, while facing threats like the Hobgoblin, the return of the Jackal, and the villainous Intelligencia. It's a pivotal turning point that re-energized the title with a sense of optimism and innovation for Spider-Man's world.

In "Moving Up," J. Michael Straczynski and Mike Deodato deliver a high-stakes Spider-Man tale where Peter Parker faces off against twisted doppelgängers of the Avengers in a hidden Hydra bunker. With Iron Man at his side, Spider-Man races to stop a missile carrying deadly biological agents aimed at the Midwest’s vital water supply—only to find himself caught in the blast’s aftermath. The cover by Mike Deodato Jr. captures the moment’s intensity, while the dynamic art and tight storytelling make this a standout in the Ultimate Collection.
