Tan Eng Huat
1974–
Tan Eng Huat (born 1974 in Malaysia), also known by the pseudonym Kutu, is a Malaysian comic book penciller and inker best known for his work on DC Comics’ *Doom Patrol* vol. 3 in 2001. He began his career self-publishing comics in his homeland before transitioning to Western comics, where he became a regular artist for DC and Marvel. His signature style—detailed, kinetic, and slightly off-kilter—suited supernatural and action-heavy titles. Key collaborators include writers like John Arcudi and Dan Abnett. Tan co-created notable runs on *Batman: Journey into Knight*, *Ghost Rider*, *Thor: First Thunder*, *Punisher*, and the cosmic series *Annihilators*. Over a career spanning 2001 to 2017, he contributed to 79 issues. While specific awards are not widely recorded, his work remains admired for its distinctive energy and Southeast Asian perspective in mainstream comics. Tan largely stepped back from monthly comics after 2017, but his influence endures among fans of early-2000s DC and Marvel supernatural titles.
