Doom Patrol #11

The cover of this October 2002 issue says it all — the Doom Patrol team is caught in a massive web, scrambling and reacting with a very relatable "EEEEewwww!" as an enormous, clawed creature looms menacingly overhead, while a giant mechanical wheel threatens from the right. Tan Eng Huat's cover work gives the scene a kinetic, slightly darkly comedic energy that feels right at home with DC's most delightfully strange superhero team. Titled "Private Hell" and written by John Arcudi, this issue promises the kind of weird, character-driven trouble only the Doom Patrol tends to find themselves in.
