Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #4

This 2014 All-New Marvel NOW! miniseries reaches its penultimate issue with a cover by Dave Johnson that pulls no punches — Shang-Chi looms on the left in a fighting stance while an armored, blade-wielding figure faces him from the right, and between them a mysterious woman in red sits at the center of an ornate stone demon-skull altar wreathed in flame. Ghostly silhouettes of additional figures fill the background, hinting at the web of conflict surrounding everyone involved. With writer Mike Benson and artist Tan Eng Huat driving "Out of the Past," this issue promises the kind of tightly wound martial-arts drama that makes Deadly Hands of Kung Fu such a satisfying read.
