DC Comics Presents: JLA #1
In "Perchance...", Pé-Paey, a being from another world whose religion foretold Earth’s evolution, finds himself drawn not to progress, but to places where suffering runs deep. As the JLA escorts him through scenes of crisis, his curiosity leads him to vanish—leaving the heroes to wonder what he truly seeks. Written by Dennis O'Neil and illustrated by Tan Eng Huat, with colors by David Baron and letters by Jared K. Fletcher, this 2011 issue features a striking cover by Doug Mahnke and Tom Nguyen.

Pé-Paey wants to see more of Earth, as it has not evolved as his alien religion predicted. However, he seems more attracted to locations where violence and hardship are plentiful, and while his League escorts are protecting innocent victims, Pé-Paey disappears.
