Paul Leroy Norris was born on April 26, 1914, and went on to become one of the more quietly influential figures in American comics. He is perhaps best remembered as the co-creator of Aquaman, the DC Comics undersea superhero who has endured for decades as a cornerstone of that publisher's universe. Norris died on November 5, 2007.

Beyond that landmark co-creation, Norris built much of his career around adventure and jungle material. His catalog reflects a deep familiarity with the Tarzan franchise — his credits span titles including *Tarzan*, *Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan of the Apes*, and *The Jungle Twins*, alongside work on *Jungle Jim* — demonstrating a sustained affinity for action-driven storytelling in exotic settings. He worked across roles as artist, inker, colorist, and writer, with credits stretching from 1940 into the following decades.

Parallel to his comic book output, Norris devoted an extraordinary 35 years to the newspaper strip *Brick Bradford*, serving as both its artist and writer. That kind of sustained commitment to a single strip remains rare in the medium and speaks to his reliability and professionalism. While Norris never accumulated the headline awards of some contemporaries, his contributions to the superhero genre through Aquaman and his extensive adventure comics work represent a durable, substantive legacy.
