The issue also includes a brief humorous backup feature about a ship's captain dealing with nautical mishaps and garbage disposal.
Pete the tramp decides a lean-to shelter just won't cut it when cold weather rolls in, so he hatches a plan to find work and scrape together enough money for a proper setup. When a blizzard hits town, his good deed helping a freezing stranger backfires in the most Pete-like way possible, leading him to a cookbook discovery that might just be the worst idea he's had yet.
