Dynomutt #4

Paul Norris's cover for this 1978 Marvel/Hanna-Barbera title says it all: Dynomutt is literally falling apart mid-chase, his robotic body scattering into pieces as he and the Blue Falcon pursue "Top Banana" — a goggle-eyed villain dressed in an actual banana costume, clutching a money bag and brandishing a ray gun. The cover copy teases that Dynomutt "goes all to pieces when he meets Top Banana, the villain with a-peel," and the goofy, energetic scene delivers exactly that promise with cheerful cartoon flair. Writer Mark Evanier and artist Paul Norris bring a light, fun touch to this canine crime-fighter's fourth outing.
