Igor Kordey
Born on June 23, 1957, in Croatia, Igor Kordey — known in American and French comics markets under the anglicized spelling of his surname — has built a remarkably versatile career spanning more than three decades as a comic book artist, illustrator, graphic designer, and scenographer. He entered the North American comics scene in the mid-1990s and quickly demonstrated a bold, kinetic draftsmanship that suited action-heavy material well.
Kordey made a strong impression at Marvel Comics, where he contributed to several titles in the X-Men line, including extended runs on *Cable*, *New X-Men*, *X-Treme X-Men*, and *Soldier X*. His work across those interconnected books gave him a sustained presence in one of Marvel's flagship franchises during the early 2000s. He also tackled classic pulp adventure with *Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan: The Rivers of Blood*, demonstrating a range that extended beyond superhero fare.
In addition to his penciling duties, Kordey has worked across multiple production roles — inking, coloring, and writing — reflecting a comprehensive command of the craft. His longest association in the catalog has been with *Marshal Bass*, a title that has anchored his more recent output and runs through at least 2026. Credited on 153 issues across his career, Kordey remains an active and productive figure in European and North American comics.
