The second volume of this French-language Western series from Delcourt finds Marshal Bass striding across a sun-baked, bone-dry desert landscape, pistol in hand, with the bleached skeleton of a large animal and a skull scattered at his feet — a quietly ominous image that sets the tone for "Meurtres en famille" beautifully. Igor Kordey's cover work is strikingly atmospheric, bathing the scene in warm yellows and dusty ochres that feel genuinely alive under the harsh frontier sun. With Darko Macan and Nikola Vitković rounding out the creative team, this 2017 Delcourt release looks like a compelling chapter in what is shaping up to be a richly crafted Western.
