Edmond Good
1910–1991
Edmond Elbridge Good was a Canadian illustrator and writer who contributed to over a dozen comic book series during the Golden Age. Born July 1, 1910, he began his comics career in the early 1940s and remained active in the industry for decades. Good is best known for his work on Western and adventure titles, particularly *Monte Hale Western*, where he handled art, inking, and lettering. He also left his mark on series such as *Dagar*, *Johnny Law, Sky Ranger*, and *Jungle Adventures*, often serving as both writer and artist. His style was straightforward and energetic, suited to the pulp-inspired action of his era. Good frequently collaborated with other Golden Age creators, though his most enduring partnerships were with publishers who kept him busy on multiple titles. Among his notable co-creations are the sky-faring hero Johnny Law and the jungle adventurer Dagar. He passed away on September 22, 1991. While he never received major industry awards, Good’s steady, reliable output across 55 credited issues helped define the look of mid-century adventure comics, and his work remains of interest to collectors and historians of the period.
