Monte Hale Western #72

Monte Hale discovers a hidden vein of silver in the hills and befriends a drifter named Cracker-Barrel, who claims to have found the location. When Monte shows Cracker-Barrel a map to a trading post where they can register their claim, Cracker-Barrel departs. Later, Monte learns that farmers in Shanda Valley have been sabotaging a dam project led by Rance Weldon, causing the trestle to collapse; Monte must rescue the workers from a dangerous fall and investigate the sabotage plot.
