About the series
In the wake of the acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series, DC launched this 60-issue companion comic, running from 1998 to 2003, which captured the look and feel of the show while telling original stories. Written primarily by Scott Peterson, Ty Templeton, and Dan Slott, with art by Tim Levins, Rick Burchett, and Craig Rousseau, the series expanded the animated universe, focusing on Batman, Robin (Tim Drake), and Barbara Gordon. It bridged the gap between the series and its successor, The New Batman Adventures, offering fans a seamless continuation of that beloved, noir-infused world.
