Batman: Gotham Adventures #37

Batman delivers a satisfying "WHAM!" across the cover of this 2001 DC title, sending the purple-suited Joker and one of his goons flying in the clean, animated style that made Batman: Gotham Adventures such a treat. Cover pencils by Bob Smith and inks by Terry Beatty give the scene an energetic, almost playful quality that captures the series' charm perfectly. With writer Scott Peterson, artist Tim Levins, and inker Terry Beatty on the interior "Images" story, this is a fine example of the animated-universe era at its most fun.
