Reggie's Wise Guy Jokes #48
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeReggie Mantle is in fine form in this 1979 entry in Archie Comics Group's gag-packed series, and the cover lays out the comic-strip-style setup with cheerful clarity: Archie takes a tumble on a skateboard up top, while below, Reggie and Betty trade increasingly colorful put-downs on a park bench — "clod," "clumsy oaf," "nerd," and "dingaling" all making an appearance. It's the kind of light, laugh-out-loud banter that made Reggie's Wise Guy Jokes a reliable treat, and issue #48 looks to deliver another round of that signature Riverdale ribbing.

Jughead is standing outside, painting a picture of a house. Reggie runs up to him asking for advice because Moose is after him. Thinking quickly, Jughead messes up Reggie's hair and puts a little red paint on Reggie's cheeks. Moose walks up, wanting to know where Reggie is. Jughead tells moose that he already clobbered Reggie, and points to Reggie, who is lying against a fence, looking like he's been clobbered by Moose. Moose walks off, thinking he's getting absentminded. In the last panel, Jughead and Reggie are at Pop's, and Reggie tells Pop that Jughead can have all the burgers he can eat.
