Written by George Gladir and illustrated by Dan DeCarlo Jr. with inks by Jimmy DeCarlo, this 1992 installment captures the classic charm of Riverdale with a touch of slapstick. The cover by Stan Goldberg and Rudy Lapick perfectly captures the moment’s chaotic energy.
In "The Lady Killer," Moose, grateful for Jughead’s help with homework, takes it upon himself to turn Jughead into a fitness fanatic—complete with grueling workouts and questionable diet plans. Soon, Jughead’s desperation grows so intense that he turns to Archie, begging for help to escape Moose’s relentless training regime.
Jughead stumbles upon a penny, only to emerge from a coin shop moments later with a fistful of cash—sparking a wild idea in Reggie and Archie that rare coins might be the key to easy riches.
Jughead takes on a wild challenge when Veronica claims her father could never come to like Archie—so he sets out to convince Mr. Lodge that Archie is the secret behind his success and good health. In a lighthearted moment at an awards ceremony, Mr. Weatherbee presents Reggie with a trophy for athletic achievement—only to be stunned when Reggie starts talking, seemingly unable to stop. Archie leans over to Betty, quietly amused, as the crowd braces for what’s sure to be a long-winded speech.
In a flash of glitter and awkward pride, Archie shows off his new disco suit at a high school dance, convinced it’s one-of-a-kind. The story captures the lighthearted, mischievous energy of teen humor, with the girls’ quick wit turning the tables on the boys’ antics.
In "Vexation Situation," Veronica’s plan to talk to her dad about a new sportscar hits a snag when Mr. Lodge grows increasingly anxious over Archie’s perfect behavior. When Archie finally storms off after being asked to leave, he runs into Smithers, the Lodge butler—prompting Mr. Lodge to relax and invite Veronica to his study. Overjoyed, Veronica rushes to Archie and kisses him, leaving the moment hanging in the air.
When a wild tomato war erupts between Reggie and Jughead, the rest of the gang finds themselves caught in the crossfire—until they decide to stop playing referee and take control of the chaos themselves.
