In "The Creature from the Crystal," young Lin Sun must answer his adoptive father’s final plea, setting off on a quest that unites him with two former students of the Kung Fu Master—Abe Brown and Robert Diamond—forming the Sons of the Tiger. As they track down a deadly ninja school tied to an opium den, they uncover a shadowy network known as the Silent Ones, pulling strings from the shadows. Written by Gerry Conway and illustrated by Dick Giordano, this 1970s-era tale blends martial arts intrigue with supernatural mystery, all wrapped in a striking cover by Rich Buckler, Alan Weiss, Pablo Marcos, and Dave Cockrum, with inks by Frank Giacoia and the same team.

Ninjas attack and mortally wound Lin Sun's adoptive father and Kung Fu Master Kee. With his dying breath, Master Kee gives Lin some magic tiger jewelry made from jade and asks him to recruit two former students, Abe Brown and Robert Diamond, in order to stop the assassins. The trail leads to a ninja school/opium den owned by Sui Ti Kama. The three friends, "the Sons of the Tiger", stop Sui Ti Kama, but he is just the pawn of a larger organization known as "the Silent Ones".
