Vertigo
A mutate created through genetic experimentation in the Savage Land, Vertigo possesses the ability to induce disorientation and dizziness in opponents. She first emerged as one of the Savage Land Mutates before later joining the Marauders.
Born into the brutal world of Marvel's Bronze Age, Vertigo made her entrance in the pages of Marvel Fanfare #1 (1982), courtesy of the legendary creative team of Chris Claremont and Michael Golden. Over a remarkable 44-year publishing span, she's carved out a place in Marvel's darker corners, counted among the Marauders and Morlocks and crossing paths with heavy-hitters like Wolverine, Storm, and Harpoon. Her appearances skew toward the landmark — five of her 48 catalog entries are recognized as key issues, a striking ratio that tells you collectors pay attention when she shows up. Whether haunting the pages of Uncanny X-Men or turning up in Captain America, Vertigo is the kind of character who rewards the devoted fan willing to dig beneath the surface of the X-Men's sprawling mythology.
