“The Retreat”

In "The Retreat," Xavier makes a bold move in New Haven, using persuasion over force to dismantle the Acolytes with surprising ease. As the group begins to scatter—some heading to San Francisco—Exodus turns the complex to rubble, setting the stage for a tense confrontation with Norman Osborn. Written by Mike Carey and illustrated by Phil Briones, with colors by Brian Reber and letters by Virtual Calligraphy and Cory Petit, the issue's dramatic tension is captured in Daniel Acuña’s striking cover.
