Verleihnix
Verleihnix is the fishmonger of the Gaulish village in the Asterix comic series, known for selling (and loudly defending the freshness of) his fish. His constant bickering with the blacksmith Fulliautomatix is a running gag throughout the series.
Verleihnix made their comics debut in 1971's Asterix #9, brought to life by the legendary creative team of René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo — a Bronze Age arrival in one of the most beloved European comic series ever put to paper. With 98 catalog appearances spanning an impressive 55 years and counting, this is a character with remarkable staying power, turning up across Asterix Mundart, Asterix, and MV Comix under the Egmont Ehapa banner. Two of those appearances carry key-issue status, making Verleihnix a name worth flagging for serious collectors. Sharing pages with the likes of Methusalix, Gutemine, and Rotbart, Verleihnix is woven into the rich, raucous fabric of the Asterix universe — and that alone is reason enough to seek them out.
