Terrax
Tyros was a ruthless and power-hungry tyrant ruling the planet Birj when Galactus selected him as his new herald, transforming him into Terrax the Tamer. Granted the Power Cosmic and a devastating energy axe, Terrax could manipulate rock and earth on a massive scale.
Debuting in the pages of Rom #26 in 1982, Terrax is a Bronze Age Marvel creation from the formidable team of Bill Mantlo, Sal Buscema, and Joe Sinnott — a character who stepped onto the page already keeping extraordinary company, sharing adventures with the likes of Spider-Man, Captain America, and Reed Richards. Affiliated with the Fantastic Four and a recurring presence across titles like Hulk and Jonathan Hickman's sweeping Avengers saga, Terrax has demonstrated a remarkable staying power, with appearances stretching across more than four decades from 1982 all the way to 2026. With a collector-significant key issue to their name and 42 catalogued appearances woven through some of Marvel's most celebrated runs, Terrax is the kind of figure who rewards the dedicated reader willing to chase them across the breadth of the Marvel Universe.
