The New Warriors: Beginnings #[nn]
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis collection gathers the earliest adventures of the New Warriors, a team of young heroes that debuted in the early 1990s. Led by Night Thrasher, the initial lineup includes Marvel Boy (Vance Astrovik), Namorita, Firestar, and Speedball, who band together to confront threats like Terrax and the Juggernaut. The volume also ties into the world of Thor, featuring appearances by the thunder god and Eric Masterson, as the Warriors find themselves caught up in larger cosmic and Asgardian conflicts.
In "From the Ground Up!", the New Warriors take their first steps as a team, training under the guidance of Chord and Tai, but Night Thrasher’s past resurfaces in the form of Midnight's Fire and Silhouette—his former ally and a woman he once injured. The tension grows as the group grapples with the weight of their leader’s history and the volatile edge he brings to their mission. Written by Fabian Nicieza and illustrated by Mark Bagley, with inks by Al Williamson, colors by Andy Yanchus, and letters by Michael Heisler, the issue’s cover by Mark Bagley and Larry Mahlstedt captures the intensity of this pivotal moment.

The New Warriors begin to train together as a unit under the watchful gaze of both Chord and Tai but Night Thrasher's past comes back to haunt him in the form of his old ally, Midnight's Fire, and an old flame, Silhouette, whom he accidentally crippled. The heroic Warriors are a little uneasy that their leader is so easily capable of brutal violence and a burning quest for vengeance.
