Douglock
Douglock is a techno-organic being whose existence blurs the identities of Doug Ramsey (Cypher) and the alien Warlock, combining their forms and memories. He became associated with Excalibur, working alongside Kitty Pryde, Nightcrawler, and Wolfsbane.
Douglock emerged from the fertile creative soil of Chris Claremont and Alan Davis's 1986 The New Mutants Annual #2, a Copper Age arrival who has quietly carved out a fascinating corner of the Marvel Universe across nearly four decades. An X-Men affiliate whose story has unfolded most prominently through the beloved pages of Excalibur, this character shares adventures with some of the most cherished figures in British-era Marvel storytelling β Wolfsbane, Kitty Pryde, and Nightcrawler among them. With 34 catalog appearances and a key issue to their name, Douglock rewards the devoted reader who digs into Excalibur Visionaries: Warren Ellis and New Mutants: Truth or Death β runs that represent some of the most inventive storytelling Marvel produced in that era. A cult favorite with genuine collector significance, Douglock is exactly the kind of character who makes deep-diving into the X-Men's extended family so endlessly rewarding.
