Mikhail hooks Illyana up to machines that will allow him to use his powers to remove the cells that will become infected by the Legacy Virus. Illyana barely survives and Mikhail rushes her to the medical facility. Mikhail returns tells the New Mutants she is cured. The team escapes and battles Mikhail. The old New Mutants show up with Illyana and she confronts her brother. It turns out he has infected her with a plague he himself carries, the Legacy Virus. Realizing that they can't change the future, Illyana teleports the old New Mutants back to their own time.
