Who is Amazo?

Amazo is an android created by the villainous Professor Ivo, engineered with specialized "absorption cells" that allow it to replicate the superpowers of any metahuman it encounters — most infamously duplicating the full abilities of the Justice League of America simultaneously.

Few villains in DC's Silver Age canon carry the sheer conceptual weight of Amazo, who burst onto the scene in The Brave and the Bold #30 in 1960, conjured by the legendary team of Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky. Across an astonishing 66-year publishing history, this android menace has proven one of DC's most enduring threats, racking up appearances alongside the heaviest hitters in the universe — Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Bruce Wayne himself. Amazo shows up most reliably in the pages of Justice League of America, which tells you everything about the level of challenge this character represents, and two of those appearances carry genuine key-issue status for collectors. If you're building a serious DC collection that spans the Silver Age to the present day, Amazo is a name you simply cannot ignore.
