Wonder Woman is subdued and taken to the island of Aeaea by Circe's beasts. There, Circe explains how she had made an alliance with the goddess Hecate in order to take revenge on those who wronged her and sow the seeds of distrust between men and women. Circe sees Diana and her mission as a threat to that cause and prepares a spell to revert Diana to the clay from which she was formed. However, Julia and the rebels storm Circe's lair and delay Circe just enough for divine intervention to put an end to her schemes.
