Vanessa Kapatelis
Vanessa Kapatelis is a teenage girl and the daughter of Harvard professor Julia Kapatelis, who becomes one of Wonder Woman's earliest friends and allies following Diana's arrival in the United States during George Pérez's landmark 1987 relaunch.
Stepping into the pages of Wonder Woman #3 in 1987, Vanessa Kapatelis arrived at the dawn of George Pérez and Len Wein's celebrated reimagining of the Amazon princess — making her a true child of comics' Copper Age. Over more than three decades, she wove herself into the fabric of Diana's world, sharing adventures alongside Wonder Woman herself, Julia Kapatelis, Lt. Etta Candy, and even the god Hermes. With two key-issue appearances to her name and a presence stretching from the late '80s all the way to 2020 — including a spotlight in DC Retroactive: Wonder Woman - The '80s — Vanessa is a quietly enduring figure whose longevity speaks to just how deeply she was embedded in one of DC's most beloved eras of storytelling.
