Demeter
Demeter is DC Comics' adaptation of the Greek goddess of the harvest, integrated into the publisher's mythological framework. She appears as part of the Olympian pantheon alongside fellow deities including Wonder Woman's divine allies Hermes, Artemis, and Apollo.
Stepping out of ancient myth and into the DC Universe in 1986, Demeter made her debut in the pages of Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe β that beloved Copper Age reference bible that codified the rich tapestry of DC's cosmos. Over nearly four decades she has woven herself through DC's mythology-steeped corners, appearing most prominently alongside the likes of Wonder Woman, Hermes, Artemis, and Apollo β the divine company that signals she belongs to comics' grandest pantheon of gods. With appearances stretching from 1986 all the way to 2023 and a key-issue credit to her name, Demeter is one of those figures who rewards the curious collector willing to dig into DC's mythological depths.
