“Archie's Taxi Service”

In "Archie's Taxi Service," Betty and Ronnie are surprised when Betty’s cat, Caramel, reveals she can talk—only to them, and only when they’re still kids. Through a heartfelt flashback, Caramel recounts her journey across America with her three kittens after their home was destroyed, finding each of them a new life while narrowly escaping danger herself. Written and drawn by Bob Bolling, with a classic cover by Dan DeCarlo, this touching tale blends whimsy and adventure in a story that’s as warm as it is unexpected.

When Betty and Ronnie comment on how lazy Betty's cat Caramel is, Caramel reveals that she has the ability to talk to them (but only while they're still small children). Caramel tells them the story of her life: she had three kittens and lived with them in an old abandoned house. When the house was destroyed, the four cats set off on a journey across America, where Caramel found homes for each of her children -- and almost lost her own life in the process.
