The Amazing Spider-Man #559
Part of Marvel's 2008 "Brand New Day" era, Amazing Spider-Man #559 opens the "Peter Parker, Paparazzi" arc with a cover that immediately grabs your attention: Spider-Man swings high above the Manhattan skyline, his web-line tethered to a white-suited figure dangling helplessly upside-down, a golden helmet tumbling away from their head. The low-angle perspective, rendered by cover artist Ed McGuinness, makes the cityscape loom dramatically around both figures, giving the whole scene a dizzy, kinetic energy. Dan Slott's script and Marcos Martín's interior art — colored by Javier Rodríguez — promise a story as lively and fun as this striking image suggests.
