Savage Dragon #72

Erik Larsen's green-finned Dragon dominates this 2000 Image Comics issue, caught mid-brawl as he drives what appears to be a massive beam or pipe into an enormous, lumpy-skinned behemoth that dwarfs him in sheer size. The raw physicality of Larsen's pencils and inks gives the clash a kinetic, almost tactile energy — Dragon's determination written across every strained muscle. Issue #72 is a solid entry in this long-running independent series for fans who love their superhero action unapologetically oversized.
