“Jimbo, Da Mighty Lobster”

Issue #10 of Erik Larsen's The Savage Dragon arrives in May 1994 with a cover that wastes no time — a massive, bandage-wrapped lobster-clawed brute has the green-skinned Dragon pinned to a cracked concrete dock, one enormous claw gripping him tight while Dragon strains to fight back. The story title "Jimbo, Da Mighty Lobster" tells you exactly who that hulking crustacean menace is, and Larsen's cover pencils and inks capture the raw physicality of the struggle with real energy. It's a great snapshot of the scrappy, monster-filled world that made this Image series such a standout in the early '90s.
