Savage Dragon #35

Two of comics' most distinctive heavy-hitters share the cover of this 1997 Image title — the green-skinned, fin-headed Savage Dragon in the foreground and the red, stone-fisted Hellboy looming large behind him, both wearing expressions that mean serious business. It's a striking double-portrait by writer-artist Erik Larsen that sets the tone perfectly for the second part of this crossover between Dragon's world and Mike Mignola's paranormal investigator. With Larsen and Mignola both credited as writers, this installment promises a genuine collision of two very different but equally compelling superhero sensibilities.
