Savage Dragon #36

This 1997 Image Comics entry in Erik Larsen's long-running series presents a striking cover composition: a figure in red is suspended upside-down in chains from above, while three characters stand ready below — a blue-and-gold costumed hero on the left, the green-skinned Dragon himself in a police uniform at right, and a female officer crouched in a combat stance with her weapon drawn. Larsen's linework gives the scene a tense, confrontational energy, with the chained figure looming dramatically over the assembled group. A solid chapter in one of Image's most enduring superhero titles.
