Savage Dragon #148

Savage Dragon comes in swinging in issue #148, with Erik Larsen's cover putting the green-skinned, fin-headed Dragon front and center as he lunges powerfully toward the viewer, one massive fist thrust forward above a glittering city skyline. Alongside him, a red-and-blue-costumed figure tumbles through the action-packed composition, making for a dynamic two-hero scene crackling with forward momentum. Larsen handles both pencils and inks himself here, and with Nikos Koutsis and Mike Toris on colors, the whole image has a rich, sun-baked warmth that gives this 2009 Image Comics entry plenty of street-level energy.
