Bud Ugly

There's something wonderfully unsubtle about a character named Bud Ugly, and this Image Comics fixture has been lurking in the pages of Savage Dragon since issue #3 back in 1993 — right at the heart of the Copper/Modern Age indie comics explosion. Over more than two decades, Bud has popped up across Savage Dragon, Savage Dragon Archives, and even the crossover event Image United, accumulating 33 catalog appearances alongside a colorful roster that includes Dragon himself, Mighty Man, Dart, and Angel Murphy. He may never have headlined his own series, but any character who keeps showing up in Erik Larsen's wild, kinetic universe for 22 years has clearly earned his place in the chaos — and that kind of longevity in a creator-owned world is its own badge of honor.
