Palomar: The Heartbreak Soup Stories (A Love and Rockets Book) #[nn]
"Chelo's Burden" is a quietly powerful entry in Gilbert Hernandez’s *Palomar: The Heartbreak Soup Stories*, where the photographer Howard Miller finds himself drawn into the intimate rhythms of life in the small, sun-drenched town. As Miller captures the faces of Palomar’s residents, his chance encounter with Tonantzin sparks a surreal journey that blurs the line between memory and dream. With Hernandez’s signature blend of emotional depth and precise storytelling, this story unfolds in his own distinctive art, rendered in his signature pencils, inks, and lettering—each panel a quiet revelation.
