“Slug Fest”

In "Slug Fest," Jaime Hernandez delivers a surreal, heartfelt adventure as sixteen-year-old Rocky and her loyal companion Fumble stumble through a portal in her niece Needra’s backyard, landing on the distant planet Blotos. What begins as a whimsical journey through alien landscapes and encounters with eccentric characters like the robot-hating Rongo Ragney takes a sudden, poignant turn when the portal vanishes—leaving Rocky and Fumble stranded in the vast unknown. With Jaime Hernandez handling every aspect of the story and art, and Gilbert Hernandez crafting the striking cover, this issue blends cosmic wonder with quiet emotional weight.
