“The Planet That Came to a Standstill!”

In "The Planet That Came to a Standstill!", Earth-1’s Johnny Thunder gains control of the Thunderbolt after his Earth-2 counterpart accidentally summons it to meet him—leading to a time-twisting chain of events that threatens the very origins of the Justice League. Written by Gardner Fox and illustrated by Mike Sekowsky, with inks by Bernard Sachs and lettering by Gaspar Saladino, this classic tale sees Johnny’s actions ripple across timelines, setting up a bold new Lawless League to challenge the JSA. The cover, a striking piece by Darwyn Cooke, captures the cosmic stakes of a world where heroes never were.

The Johnny Thunder of Earth-1 takes control of the Earth-2 counterpart's Thunderbolt after the Johnny of Earth-2 accidentally asks T-Bolt to transport him to Earth-1 to meet his counterpart (since he wondered if he had a counterpart there like the other heroes). The Earth-1 Johnny then goes back in time to prevent the JLAers from existing when they stop T-Bolt from committing crimes for him. After being defeated by the JSA later on, he has the Thunderbolt go back in time again to create a Lawless League (based off the JLA's origins) from his criminal associates to confront the JSA on Earth-1.
